This Sunday - All Age Service

Join us this Sunday for a very special Father’s Day All Age Service. Dads from the church family will be taking part, kids from the church family will be praying for fathers. There is a great interactive activity for the whole family, a Father’s Day photo booth and much more. Then, right at the centre, we will praise God that He is a good, good father to us. All earthly fathers make mistakes and some make very big mistakes, but our Heavenly Father never lets us down. So join us as we celebrate together.

Refreshments are served both before and after the service and prayer is always available after the service; do ask other church members or speak to the service leader. 

Equip This Week - Our Focus

Over the last two weeks, we have been considering our response to EQUIP. We have thought about the freedom the Gospel brings as well as the focus that the Gospel gives to our lives. We will continue next week, thinking specifically about what that might look like in practice as we look at the next verses of Colossians.

Do make sure our special evening on the 20th July is in your diary - our time of commitment and praise. These final steps in the journey of discovery could be exciting ones for each of us. Why not ask God to use these last EQUIP weeks to deeply equip us for lives of discipleship?

Baptism Sunday - 23rd July

After the service this Sunday there will be a short meeting for any children who would like to think about being baptised in the upcoming service on Sunday 23rd July. Do come along and find out what baptism is about and if this is something your child would like to do.

New Group for Year 6’s

What a blessing it was last Sunday to be able to start a new group for our Year 6 children at Christ Church. This gives the older children the opportunity to dive deeper into the Bible and learn more of His word as they have fun together. It is an All-Age Service this week, but the new group continues next week.

Slip and Slide - Youth

Youth are invited to the newly opened Slip and Slide on the Killiow Estate on Sunday 9th July. This event is open to Year 6 and above (siblings of youth are also invited). Please note that all children of any age need to be accompanied by an adult.

Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and church family that we can join together in praying for:

1. This week we pray for our church family at Christ Church. We have been very encouraged over the last two weeks as people have responded to our teaching in Acts. We pray for the growth of our church family as we look to see the gospel going out in Truro, especially amongst children, young people and those who are really disadvantaged. Pray that we would be a church devoted to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

2. We give thanks for St Allen and pray that a local minister with a heart for the gospel can be appointed soon.

3. Heavenly Father, we rejoice that Barnabas-funded aid has become a “light of hope” for 2,000 Christian families struggling to survive following unprecedented flooding in Pakistan. As well as giving thanks that You have graciously attended to their practical needs, we are grateful that You have strengthened them in their faith. Please continue to be with them as they rebuild their lives, meeting all their needs according to the riches of Your glory in Christ Jesus, in whose Name we pray. (Philippians 4:19)
