This Sunday 10:30am - Joint Service at St Kea

We are excited to join together with our fiends at St Kea for our Pentecost celebration service this year. This is a shorter service for all ages with lots of time to chat with friends old and new at the end of our time together. There will be activities for children and interactive fun. This service continues our current series in Acts as we come to Pentecost and see the Holy Spirit be given to the church.

The service is being held at St Kea Church (you can find directions by clicking the link below) and its starts at 10.30am. Refreshments are served both before and after the service and prayer is always available after the service; do ask other church members or speak to the service leader.

Our normal patterns resumes the week after: 9:30am at Archbishop Benson School.

Tonight 7:30pm - Prayer Evening

Please join us tonight (Thursday 25th at 7.30pm) when we will be meeting together to hear about the life of our church and to pray. At Christ Church we are convinced that the life of our church needs to be underpinned by prayer. It is only if God is at work amongst us that our church will be healthy and fruitful.

These evenings last about an hour and they are really informal. No one is made to pray out loud or anything like that. So why not come along if you have never been before. Trinity Coming Together

As we are getting closer to becoming one church as Trinity, we would love to keep in touch with all the congregations across Trinity and the ministry we are engaged in together. We hope we can continue to pray for one another and share news of the Lord’s work amongst us.

This week we are focusing on the work at St John’s Church. Life at St John’s church has been busy with their recent new church wardens Sarah Peters and Andrew Cowley being appointed. Please pray for them as they start this journey with St John’s. They have had another successful Messy Church session last Sunday and are starting the Prayer Course this Thursday evening at 7pm (which is open to all of Trinity). Please pray for St John’s, for the congregation there, as they continue to grow.

Trinity Implementation Group also met last week to continue working on the coming together of our churches. There are representatives from each of our churches on the group. Alan Stanhope represents Christ Church. Do pray for Alan and the whole team as they continue this work.

Please do also save the date for our Celebration Sunday for Trinity Church, being held on Sunday 3rd September from 1pm. This will be an afternoon when we can gather together from all our congregations for food, activities and fun for all of the family. More details on what’s in store and how to book to follow. 

Youth Update Summer 23

It is hugely exciting to have many young people engaged with various church activities across Trinity. In the past few months we have seen encouraging growth in many areas and new opportunities are presenting themselves. We are so thankful to the many volunteers who make our existing groups and activities possible. Praise God for each one of them.

As our work with young people across Trinity grows, so does our need for volunteers. Therefore we want to highlight some of the areas where we have a particular need for volunteers:

• Weekly Sunday Youth during the St Kea service (school years 7 - 9)

• Weekly Tuesday Night Youth (school years 6 - 10)

We also have an amazing opportunity to be delivering regular youth & children's work on the Trelander estate in Truro that will allow us to build positive relationships with children, young people and families. In order to make the most of these opportunities, we need a team of volunteers that will enable us to deliver a variety of activities:

• Trelander Weekly Youth Club (in partnership with LICF Dockyard)

• Tregolls August Holiday Club (in partnership with LICF Dockyard)

• Weekly after-school club at Tregolls School (in partnership with LICF Dockyard)

If you are interested in supporting with any of these opportunities, or would like to know more about any of them, please do get in touch with Hugh Barne or Sam Payne. All volunteers will receive support and training and will go through the safer recruitment process.

The Whole Story

Inspired by our new sermon series in the book of Acts, one church member of St Kea (Iain Brunt) is hosting an event at Old Kea to listen to the whole of Acts in one go. This is taking place on the 1st June starting at 7pm.

Listening to the whole of Acts in one go helps get the big picture of the whole book and it is an exciting ride. It will last about two and half hours and there will be food and other refreshments provided.

Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and church family that we can join together in praying for:

1. This week we pray for our ministry and staff team as they come together to be refreshed by the Gospel.

2. We also give thanks for St John’s Church and pray for them and their congregation, for them to continue to grow.

3. Please continue to pray for the work of Truro Foodbank, for all of those who serve and for those in need.
