Church youth work

The church has a vibrant and growing youth work which caters to the young people who are part of our congregation.
Each term we publish a programme of activities and groups. If you would like to be added to the list and receive a copy, please contact Drew.
A full explanation of the youth work programme is available, and can be added into your church directory ring binder. Again, if you would like a copy, please contact Drew. An outline of our activities can be found below:
Sunday Mornings
Both the 9.30 and 11.15am services at St Kea have youth groups for young people in years 7-9. These groups use the Energize material from Urban Saints, and feature games, quizes, discussions and worship. The youth group meet in the Upper Room in the church hall - if you're not sure where you're going just follow the crowd!
Evening Youth Groups
We run two evening youth groups;
ACTS for age 11+
and 3T for year 10 and up. (Read those carefully!)
ACTS meets at Kerstin's house from 5-7 on Sundays, and 3T meets at Julie's house on Thursdays from 7.30 - 9.15. Both groups involve a variety of Bible teaching, games and refreshments and are extremely popular with our young people. Directions to both venues can be found in the youth group information pack, or by contacting Drew.
12:1
On the third Sunday of the month, instead of the ACTS group meeting, the whole youth group have the opportunity to come together for worship and teaching. We usually meet in the Upper Room from 7-8.30pm, but do check your programme!
The group is named after Romans 12:1:
"Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God— this is your spiritual act of worship."
Residentials and camps
Time away together is invaulable, so each autumn and spring we go away together, either on a youth group houseparty or on the church weekend which happens every other spring. These are fantastic opportunities to get away, have a laugh, eat lots of cake and work our way through a small chunk of the Bible.
In addition, in the summer we offer the opportunity to go away to either the CCYC camp in Bodmin, which is open to anyone in secondary school, or to Soul Survivor, Shepton Mallett, which we open to anyone aged over 14(ish).
